What a great gift idea or easy and inexpensive project to enhance your home décor? This finished project is so elegant and will fit in just perfect! Gathering up a few items and with a little creativity, you can create a beautiful decoration for your home in no time, then add a ribbon for hanging, or arrange several small kissing balls in a decorative dish. I added mine the top of a candleholder for a pretty little topiary.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Foam Ball for Base (You could also use a baseball or whiffle ball), Mine is a 3.9″ Styrofoam ball
  • Four Rolls of Crepe Paper Streamers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ribbon (optional)

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Cut each of the streamers into 24″ strips. A single 24″ strip will make one small rosette. If you want larger rosettes, use longer strips of streamers. You can make rosettes of varying size to change the look of the kissing ball.
  2. Fold the top 1/3 of the streamer down… this will make the petals look softer. Start at one end and roll the strip a little to form the center of the rosette, remember to pinch the streamer together tightly at the base.
  3. Then, you just keep gathering, rolling, and pinching the rest of the strip so it resembles a rose, it really is very pretty. You can roll some a little tighter and some just a bit looser to vary the size and look of each rosette. You could even twist the streamer as you roll for a little different look. Once rolled, add a drop of hot glue to the end so your rosettes don’t unravel.
  4. Cover the bottom of the rosette with hot glue and simply stick it onto the foam ball.
  5. Repeat the steps until you have the entire ball covered, it will take a little time to finish, so be patient.
  6. Cut a strip of ribbon and glue it onto the ball so you can hang it. Or, you could make several rosette balls in different colors and display them in a beautiful dish, or add one to the top of a large candleholder like I did for a mini topiary.

I hope you had as much fun as I did making this kissing ball rosette, have fun crafting.
